The False Shepherds.
Look around. They lead you to ruin and say they have been anointed by God. And they know scripture. It is on their lips, upon their doorposts even upon their garments. They say the word of God is upon them and they call you to fast. They call you to pray. They even call you to turn away from sin.
But which sin?
They weep at lost prayer in the school and in the seat of government. They say this is why God is angry. No, God took away prayer from us. For He has said "This people is double minded and evil. They called my name in blessing upon the land and then cursed it with their deceit. They have shouted from the pulpit and announced from the street corners that I am angry with you, those who do not prosper, who do not thrive in the land."
"But I am not angry with you, the poor and the lowly. I have given you strife as a gift and a blessing that my wisdom may be established and my mercy may be justly dispensed."
"Rather it is I that took prayer from your schools and from your town halls that I might not bear your lying lips. For I will not hear your prayer. You have said to the poor, this is your lot for you are in sin. And you have cast it abroad that justice is found in your weapon and peace is found in your diplomacy."
"Know that the hour is not now at hand but is long past where you might have declared your innocence with your deeds and confirmed you justice in mercy. That hour is gone."
"See your streets how the violence grows and you are unable to put it down. Yet even now blood is primed from your veins before it too flows in the streets. Know that it is my eye that has turned to you in anger and disgust. It is my hand that will spill your blood and destroy your delightful temples. I will allow men to disregard your laws and suffer no evil at your clenched fist. You will gnash your teeth in anger but it will not avail you at all. I allowed you to flourish and waited for justice but it was not in you. I pruned you but mercy did not come to fruition. I, even I gave you this land and you have used it to devise weapons with which to trouble the whole world. I allowed my chosen to suffer and invited you to open your arms to them. You turned them away saying it was my will that they follow your law. It was not. It was my will that you change your law to give them sanctuary. But you would not."
Now know that God still calls for justice. But not from you. Rather He calls for justice against you. The wine that you fermented you shall indeed drink. He will give the meek and the lowly what you have taken from them and they shall live in grandeur in the palaces you built for yourselves. But before then He will give you an impossible victory so that you may gloat in your arrogance and say to the widow and the stranger "See? Is not God again with us?"
But then will come the twins of fire and the dance of the mountains. and the trouble of the great waters will build a great wall and another great wall that will tear at your greatest heroes with their great houses and their thrones. And His wall of water will laugh at your wall of stone and disregard it as a wave disregards a sand castle. But He will not totally destroy the land for the sake of the people and the animals for it is time for Him who was chosen from the foundation of time to take His throne and lead those who will hear him to the peace they have longed to see.
Let him that has an ear to hear listen and an eye to see observe what comes and believe the whole word.
